Installing On Edison vis The Cube

Hi I’m trying to install Flytos on Intel Edison via Pixhawk 2 The Cube, I have followed the instructions here

and dowloaded the image and installed it from terminal on Mac, however when it reboots I just get EDISON-00-00 Wifi network I can’t connect tom I’m not getting the Flytos one as suggested in the docs

Do I have to flash the Linux image thats also listed in the downloads too ?

sorry for the incorrect detail in doc.
You should get to see the WiFi network as ‘EDISON-XY-ZW’, with X, Y, Z, W parameters depending on your hardware.

You can safely connect to this network, via the password provided in the docs.

I still could not connect via that password, can you just confirm what it is

password should be: flytos12#, as mentioned over here.

Ok logged in now just trying to work out how to activate this as the Edison is in the Pixhawk 2 and the Wifi is in AP, I’m using a Mac so don’t fully get what I need to do, I can’t get to the flytconsle but can get to the homepage and logs and its saying it can’t fine internet connection

Please follow this guide to configure your Edison to Client mode, essentially connecting it to your home/office router.

You should be able to reach flytconsole even without internet. Can you please post a screenshot of your home page.

Hi I cant get to console but if i just go to the ip address i get this

Can you open the log page and post your runlog and startup log?

See the attached LogLog.rtf (40.1 KB)

Hey @hundleton1,

Can you please share the runlog as well. You seem to have shared only the startup log.

Hi the run log is at the bottom of the startup log I posted but it’s this

Run Log

Oh! I understand you issue now.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We have not updated our edison image since it got discontinued.
You have a much older version of FlytOS.

Download the latest Edison FlytOS debian from here.
Run this command on Edison:

sudo dpkg -i <path to above downloaded file>/flytosv1.5-6e.deb

Once done, reboot the device and now FlytOS should work.

Can you just walk me though where to run that,

So when I installed it I’m using Mac, I did the install through terminal, do I place the file in the same location I did the install from then navigate there in terminal and run that command ?

Can you ssh into Edison? Or connect to the device via its USB interface?

To ssh into Edison:

  • Make sure Edison and mac are connected to same wifi network
  • Open a terminal in your mac and run this command
    • ssh flytos@
  • Type ‘flytos’ when it asks for password.

Hi, when I’m trying to SSH in I’m getting this and its not accepting the password

Ians-Air:~ ian$ ssh flytos@

Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes

Edit ok got this done but am having some big problems chaning the wifi and I’m having to refresh again to get it back tostock

OK I’m close, its giving me invalid key when I try to activate it, when I click the link it says device has already been registered but when I put that key into the console it invalid key

Please share the FlytOS runlog and startup log. Click here to know more.

Hi, I’m having a similar problem.
I tried flashing FlytOS to the Edison via a PH 2.1 but it reports an error:

It seems like the Edison is not in boot mode.
When you run this script, you should reconnect the USB for the edison to go to boot mode.
